HAVSRÅ
In Norse mythology, the Havsrå
were spirits of the sea, wardens of particular landforms and maritime dominions.
In HAVSRÅ, we explore the looming shadows of deep sea rare-earth mining, and the ways in which civil society resistance to extractive ocean industries might reverberate through culture. Like the mythical creatures they are named after, the members of the HAVSRÅ organization act as protectors of the sea, revealing to the world the invasive practices taking place within it.
